I am not a morning person. I'm at my best late at night. If you need someone to do complicated math, install drywall, or attend a video conference call at 3 a.m., I'll be there with real pants on and everything. But when birds are singing and sunlight is pouring through the window shades, I'll be hiding under the blankets and moaning that it's too early for all this birdsong, and that it's unconscionable to expect a grown adult to wake up at the ungodly hour of 8:30 in the morning.
